Years before the imprint existed, Jen had a discouraging day on a bench in Wrocław, Poland. That was the first time she ever saw the Northern European Peacock butterfly — a flash of color that made her smile in the middle of a rough moment. That memory stayed with her.

When it came time to choose an imprint name, Painted Wings Publishing felt right. It captured both the literal beauty of butterfly wings and the hope that stories can carry us through.

In 2022, Jen's experiments with edge designs finally turned into something real: a proof copy that confirmed her theory worked. Soon after, a TikTok video on her author account quietly went viral, and a wave of indie authors arrived, excited to commission edges and formatting.

That break came at a much‑needed time, helping Jen and her family navigate health challenges while building a business that honors indie creativity. Today, Painted Wings continues to grow slowly and intentionally, always prioritizing quality, communication, and care.
